HOTEL
The building was a private residence from 1800 until becoming an inn in 1912 after being purchased by Sig. Paier Saule, the great-grandfather of the current owner, Alfredo.
Helped by his daughters he ran the inn until August 23rd. 1944 when, considered a Partisan refuge, it was burnt-out by the German Army.
The inn remained closed during the remainder of the second World War.
After the end of the war, the structure, heavily damaged by the fire, was rebuilt and reopened to the public.
Several changes of management followed, one being Alfredo's grandfather [1954 - 1968], who widened the structure, making Hotel Calvi a landmark for travellers, especially Germans bound for the Adriatic coast.
In 1997 the old hotel was inherited by Alfredo, who after a major renovation, reopened the hotel on July 1st 1999 with his wife Flora.
